Since the early 1980s, Solartint Founder Mark O’Brien has been working with and around window films starting with automobiles. Mark had managed and operated automobile service departments for three prominent car dealerships in the New England area.
In year 2000 it became very relevant to Mark that not only was there a need for window film on automobiles, but commercial and residential consumers had a great need for this product as well. Upon further research and consultations with Green Table groups, glass companies, architects and designers, Mark founded Solartint Inc. Solartint is not a franchise - it is solely owned and operated with pride. Mark soon joined the International Window Film Association (IWFA) and participated in more seminars. As Mark became affiliated with film installers across the country, his eagerness to learn the many benefits of window films grew. Solartint found Blast resistant films, shatter resistant films, UV ray protection films, architectural films, designer films, and much more. Solartint soon realized that if there was a concern with glass - they had the remedy and/or a referral for the concern through their many alliances in the industry - hence the saying “Wherever you see glass, think Solartint”. |

In 2005 Solartint Inc. expanded its operation and opened a second store in Weymouth on Route 53. This allowed Solartint Inc. to serve over 300+ automobile clients per year, and steadily increase the commercial & residential clientele base as well.
In 2012 the customer demand for Solartint to advance and solidify its presence in the film industry grew. In order to properly serve its current client base and keep up with the demand of new clients, Solartint Inc. opened a third store. A larger store in a prominent location on Route 18 in Weymouth conveniently located between the two. The move enabled Solartint to geographically maintain and increase satisfaction to its current customer database and properly build and serve its ever growing new base.
